di San Giovanni Montebello

La storia di San Giovanni Montebello è indissolubilmente legata alla terra e alle fatiche dei suoi contadini, veri artefici della trasformazione di un territorio un tempo boscoso nel rigoglioso giardino del versante etneo. Per celebrare queste radici, la Pro Loco ha voluto recuperare la memoria delle antiche vendemmie, momenti che rappresentavano il cuore pulsante della vita economica, sociale e relazionale della nostra comunità. Questo prezioso retaggio oggi rivive in un emozionante viaggio visivo, che ci restituisce con straordinaria vividezza i volti fieri, la fatica e i sorrisi dei vendemmiatori carichi di generosi grappoli d'uva.

Il recupero di queste antiche testimonianze è il frutto dell'instancabile lavoro dei nostri volontari, che hanno unito la profonda conoscenza della storia locale all'impiego di moderni programmi di grafica digitale. Per riparare i graffi e le usure che il tempo aveva inflitto alle vecchie stampe, è intervenuta anche l'Intelligenza Artificiale, utilizzata dal nostro team in modo etico e rigorosamente consapevole: l'IA non è stata impiegata per alterare la verità storica o inventare dettagli inesistenti, ma unicamente per supportare la pulizia delle immagini, migliorarne i contrasti e restituire nitidezza alle composizioni originali. Restituire alla comunità questi frammenti di vita restaurati non è un semplice esercizio di nostalgia, ma un passo fondamentale per risvegliare le coscienze, stringere i legami tra gli abitanti e trarre dalla nostra autentica identità la forza necessaria per progettare uno sviluppo futuro e sostenibile per il nostro paese.

The history of San Giovanni Montebello is inextricably linked to the land and the hard work of its farmers, the true architects of the transformation of a once-wooded territory into the lush garden of the Etna slopes. To celebrate these roots, the Pro Loco wanted to recover the memory of the ancient grape harvests, moments that represented the beating heart of the economic, social, and relational life of our community. This precious heritage lives on today in an emotional visual journey, which restores to us with extraordinary vividness the proud faces, the toil, and the smiles of the grape harvesters laden with generous bunches of grapes.

The recovery of these ancient testimonies is the result of the tireless work of our volunteers, who combined their profound knowledge of local history with the use of modern digital graphics programs. To repair the scratches and wear that time had inflicted on the old prints, Artificial Intelligence also intervened, used ethically and strictly mindfully by our team: AI was not used to alter historical truth or invent non-existent details, but solely to support the cleaning of the images, improve their contrasts, and restore sharpness to the original compositions. Returning these restored fragments of life to the community is not a simple exercise in nostalgia, but a fundamental step to awaken consciences, strengthen ties among the inhabitants, and draw from our authentic identity the strength necessary to plan a future and sustainable development for our town.
